Marks are crisp and clear. Made in Kiev, Russian Empire, ca. Belt Keepers Designed for 1-5/16in. Wide belt Weight: 0.97 troy oz. Some scratches to underside and zigzag for silver testing. Commensurate with age, the condition is excellent. Dark spots you are seeing on the photos, are reflections of a camera and other objects.

Very Unusual Antique Art Deco European 800 Silver Niello Multi-Design Bar Brooch. This gorgeous Russian silver Niello work belt buckle was made by Russian silversmith. Aleksandr Vasilbev Domnin in St. Petersburg around the 1890s. It features a masterfully decorated scalloped shield design with. A jambiya dagger pin on a safety chain. All parts to this antique early 20th century buckle are hallmarked. In very good antique condition with some tarnishing to the back, closes well and secure. Niello is a black mixture, usually of sulphur, copper, silver, and lead, used as an inlay on engraved or etched silver. Antique Persian Turkish Siam Silver & Niello Fabric 34 Belt. Interesting belt, 34″ long, comprised of a 4 3/4″ bow shaped silver, niello, and brass buckle, with 30 silver and niello slides measuring 1 7/8″x 7/8″, sewn to a green, red, and white fabric sash. Uncleaned, as found condition, unmarked to my knowledge, weighing 436 grams total. Appears to be from the late 19th century.
