Hello dear customers, I’m happy to offer one antique circa late 19th century vesta matchbox holder striker. Elegant with oval corners and fully decorated with niello enamel and floral motifs. Featuring hand engraved in central medallion Human skull Memento Mori symbol. The vesta produced in Austria by famous G. Georg Adam Scheid silversmith company. It is marked on inner lid edge with G. Mark Austian Diana head mark and letter A mark. Found at an estate sale in Vienna not sure for its age or history other than it came from an estate of a world traveler and antiques collector. It is very good preserved with minor wear on niello enamel due to age. The lis operating smooth and fit excellent, ribbed slot on bottom for match striking. Measures: 47mm x 30mm.
