For your consideration is a rare and important antique Imperial Russian Chased 84 Niello Silver Snuff Pill Vesta Box Kovsh Case in fine original condition. Weight is approximately 31.40 grams. Measures approximately 48mm x 39mm x 22mm. Fully hallmarked for Russian Imperial 84 Silver kokoshnik and maker’s/ workmaster/ silversmith initials/ marks. Beautiful niello black and silver design with Versace border / rim. Hinge is loose; however, box closes tightly. With the exception of a loose hinge, this snuff box is in excellent condition.
The interiors are gilded. One cup has a knurled rim, while the other does not. They are marked [A Yu 7] with a Soviet 875 silver assay mark.
