Up for sale is this rare find, this Jambiya is just incredible, very big size, blade quality is the best there is. L , blade and original horn handle dates from the early 19th century/late 18th. The handle is made from horn and it is saifani. Made from precious and exotic horn. Sheath and silver mounts on the handle are early 20th century made in Iraq, with the most amazing niello work, this is the only one with this design and quality i could find, will be a great addition to any islamic art/ arms collection. The blade is a fine Wootz blade with very nuce pattern what makes us believe it is ottoman or Persian in origin, maybe even 18th century. Victorian Sterling Silver Niello Watch Chain w / fob. Niello is the art of ornamenting metal surfaces that is thought to have originated with the Egyptians and spread throughout Europe in the Middle Ages. It is an enamel-like substance made alloys of sulfur, copper, silver and lead and used as an inlay on engraved metal. This attractive chain from the Victorian (ca1880) era is a wonderful example of the Niello craft! Not marked but tested by a professional jeweler and meets a high silver sample. 19 c Niello Silver Morning Glory Figure Dresser Jewelry Trinket Casket Box Scene. Here we have a wonderful late 1800s Victorian Dresser Box. It is made of fine silver plate and signed on the bottom Simpson Hall & Miller. SHM was one of the premier silverplate makers in the 1800s and made exceptional pieces like this one. On the top there are beautiful Morning Glory flowers. Around the edges there is a gorgeous scene that wraps around the entire box. Elegant girls are picking apples and the detail is INCREDIBLE.
