One of the finer and earlier examples of Russian Niello work we have offered in some time. The cup is superbly handmade throughout with a rich gold gilding and intricate niello work that includes Russian Imperial eagles figures surrounding the body. The cup also has its original cover with matching period hallmarks. The cup has a dated hallmark created during the year 1842, along with the Moscow city hallmark and other makers marks, that are well worth looking into.
