A handcrafted solid silver structure belt buckle. Two conjoint leaf-form parts with a dagger-form latch with chain. Decorated with niello enamel scrolls, foliage, depicting on each part “??????? ” (English – “Caucasus”) Slightly bent to fit better, please see and inspect all photos. Marked underside to all parts: “? , Kokoshnik, 84″, (Greek letter Lambda – “? “, Profile, 875 Silver) – – for region assay office city of Kiev; maker’s initials “MPM” – listed, but unidentified silversmith. Marks are crisp and clear. Made in Kiev, Russian Empire, ca. Belt Keepers Designed for 1-5/16in. Wide belt Weight: 0.97 troy oz. Some scratches to underside and zigzag for silver testing. Commensurate with age, the condition is excellent. Dark spots you are seeing on the photos, are reflections of a camera and other objects.

The piece is about 3 1/4 inches tall by 7 ½ inches wide over the handles and weighs 226 grams. The gilt interior would accept a glass basket with a 4 inch diameter base. The foot rim and interior are gilded, with niello decoration and engraved highlights on the pierced body. It has not been monogrammed. It is marked with a Soviet 875 standard mark with a “M” on the outside of the foot rim and [KXKS] on the base. Condition on the piece is quite good. There are some stubborn spots, as well as normal wear. An attractive piece of Russian silver.

Russian Imperial 875 silver niello large serving spoon Circa 1900, decorated with front view of Saint Basil’s Cathedral upon Vasil’evskyi spusk at the beginning of Red Square in Moscow, Russia. The border decorated with etched Slavic scroll-work tapestry niello design with zig-zag running border. Overall very good condition, no damage nor repair, minor scratches due to age & rare use. A superb Russian solid silver serving spoon. It is hallmarked with the 975 standard mark along with the star, sickle and hammer mark used after 1958. It has been superbly made being decorated with a Niello flower and fruit design. It is in superb condition having no dings splits distortions or repairs. 7.75 inches (19.8cm) long by 1.75 inches (4.5cm) wide and weighs 60 grams. A very high quality piece.
