RARE AND IN EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION: Armenian inscribed niello cigarette case from Van region. Owner’s name inscribed: Hovhaness Yombegian. Likely time period: 1895 – 1915. The first niello case I have seen with the owner’s name inscribed and in such beautiful script. Niello work was perfected by Armenian craftsmen in the Van region. The craftsmanship and niello work are superb. Highly sought after and in great condition. A must have for the serious collector.
